Assignments

Whilst Viatores Christi endeavours to find an assignment to suit you, here are some of the requests for personnel we currently have:

 

Medical:

Haiti (the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere)

-  An established hospital in Milot, Haiti, has a need for a Sonographer technician

At the same Haitian hospital, three other posts need to be filled in 2008:

nurse practitioner

health administrator

construction/maintenance.

At the 'mission house' associated with the hospital, a need for two volunteers exists, duties include:

co-ordinating visits to the hospital of medical teams from the States and donors

supporting the running of a literacy project

supporting a local income generation initiative

assisting the hospital's Department of Community Health. 

 

Nigeria

-  Justice, Development and Peace Movement, Nigeria need a doctor to work in a hospital

South Africa

-  occupational therapist to work with children, in an orphanage outside Johannesburg

South Sudan

- team of three required to work in South Sudan in a mobile health

   clinic with emphasis on primary health care and education on health issues

Lesotho

- medical personnel for Lesotho to work in hospitals: GPs, orthopaedic surgeon,

  paediatrician and gynaecologist

Peru

- opportunities to work in existing teams in Peru:

professionals in mental health care,

intellectual disability, physiotherapists, occupational therapist, speech therapists,

teachers in conductive education, teachers/therapists of movement- dance

Teachers:

Nigeria

- teachers of Maths, Science and English required for a junior secondary school,

  Nigeria.  Would suit a graduate or trained teacher.  Additional interests including

 sport, gardening etc welcome.

Peru

- teachers of English (children, youth and adults), art, instrumental music

Zambia

Working alongside a current Viatores Christi volunteer, (male) maths/science/English teachers required for a secondary school

 

Other:

South Africa

-  Chef/kitchen manager and an after-school co-ordinator to work in an orphanage

    outside Johannesburg

Nigeria

- person with carpentry and wood work skills required to teach, at secondary level.  Also for the same programme, person with conflict management/peace building skills required.  An administrator also required (for Justice, Development and Peace Movement).

Peru

- community workers, youth workers, promoters of women's rights, catechists and

  other trained parish ministries

Bolivia

- various professions / trades and skills required for an organisation that works with street children - both skilled and unskilled personnel welcome
