Viatores Christi, founded in 1960, recruits, prepares and sends lay missionary volunteers to work in areas of need overseas. We welcome people from all backgrounds. If you have transferable skills and would like to work for one year or more, see below for how to join us and to read about some of the jobs we currently need filled. We also promote full time volunteering here in Ireland. In 2007, Anne Irvine went to work as a volunteer social worker in Limpopo Province South Africa. She worked with a HIV/AIDS project based in Lulekani (a rural area). Most of the families had come as refugees from Mozambique during the civil war. Whilst Anne continues to be actively involved with this project there remains ongoing needs.
